    ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

    The Civil Court in Godda is a subordinate court which was established on 26-04-1986 carving out from the Dumka Judgeship, shortly after the district of Godda was created in 1983. The Godda Judgeship has its jurisdiction over the Godda district, which is located in the Santhal Pargana division of Jharkhand. Over the years, the Godda Judgeship has played an important role in dispensing justice to the people of the district in accordance with law. The court has heard a number of high-profile cases, including cases related to land disputes, criminal offenses, family disputes etc. Since its inception, Godda Judgeship has played a significant role in the administration of justice in the district.

    Godda district is located in the Santhal Parganas division of the Jharkhand State. The district is situated in the northeastern part of the Jharkhand and shares its borders with the state of Bihar on the north and east, and districts of Dumka and Deoghar on the west and south respectively. The district covers an area of approximately 2110 square kilometers and is home to a population of around 1.7 million people with its literacy rate of 58%.
